We’re suckers for grandeur same-sex wedding proposals (can you blame us!). So when this video of Boston University alum Kyle proposing to his partner Tommy swooped across our desks, we had to share it — STAT!
Watch Kyle propose to his partner, Tommy, below!
It’s so easy to get caught up in the politics of gay marriage/ rights, that it’s a breath of fresh air to see first hand what we’re all really fighting for — the moment to stand in front of a GIANT crowd and confess our undying commitment to the one we love… and then slow dance with our partner on stage. The best part of the video: how emotional Tommy get’s when he’s asked. This is real love (and a total “BYOT — bring your own tissue” moment!).
Here’s the story from the YouTube video: “Tommy and Kyle met in November 2007 and started dating in June 2008. Over Tommy’s college career he was a part of the award winning all-male a cappella group the Boston University Dear Abbeys. On April 28th 2012, the 20th anniversary show of the group as well as the release of their new album (Proclamation) which Tommy produced and recorded, Kyle conspired with the Dear Abbeys to make it a night Tommy would never forget. With alumni returning to Boston from from all over the country, as well as their closest friends and family, Kyle proposed in front of approximately 700 people to an overwhelming amount of love and support from the entire audience.”
